At 54, I thought I had it all figured out.
I’d spent 25 years building a respected career in IT—leading teams, solving problems, climbing the ladder with quiet determination. I loved what I did. I thought I was irreplaceable.
And then I was made redundant.
No warning. No safety net. Just a sudden vacuum where purpose and structure had once been.
For months, I spiraled. Job boards. Rejected applications. Radio silence. I began to question everything—my skills, my relevance, even my worth. I wondered if society had already decided my time was up.
Then something changed…
I realized I couldn’t wait for the world to see my value—I had to show it.
So I dug deep. I worked on my mindset. I reframed my experience.
I treated my life like a career reboot—not a retreat.
I connected with other women in the same boat. We shared stories, strategies, hard truths, and small wins.
And slowly, I rebuilt not just my resume… but my sense of self.
